Thieaudio Origin

THIEAUDIO Origin is designed around a novel Quadbrid driver configuration featuring (x4) separate types of drivers for a total of (x8) drivers per each side. The diverse array of driver technology delivers completely unique textures to rediscover your music.

Genuine Drivers for Genuine Sound

The Origin features premium drivers from European Sonion and American Knowles. It includes dual Sonion electrostatic (EST) super tweeters for airy treble, a re-engineered Knowles TWFK dual tweeter for smooth upper and lower treble, and two Sonion 2600 series full-range drivers for low-mids and midrange. A 10mm bio-cellulose diaphragm dynamic driver (DD) handles sub-bass, while an in-house 11mm bone-conductor (BC) driver adds texture to mids and trebles that you can feel due to its tactile vibrations.

Big-Bass, Refined Tuning

Designed for bass lovers, Origin boasts a 12dB sub-bass shelf cut precisely at 250Hz, yielding one of THIEAUDIO’s most engaging bass signatures thus far. However, staying true with their mission, the tuning has been refined with THIEAUDIO’s signature balanced tuning. The midrange is neutral for accurate and studio-quality tonality delivery to instruments and vocals. The treble perfectly matches the human in–ear’s perceived frequency hearing, with a natural decay into the upper treble. Origin is THIEAUDIO’s interpretation of the perfect bass-heavy, yet balanced, tonal signature.

Custom Upgraded EliteNoir Cable

THIEAUDIO Origin comes stock with a high quality 'EliteNoir' cable featuring a detachable 2-pin 0.78mm connector, allowing the user to mix and match the IEM with different cables. Furthermore, the cable features THIEAUDIO’s modular connector system providing swappable 3.5mm unbalanced and 4.4mm balanced connectors for use with any device.

The EliteNoir cable features high-grade components including 7x7x0.08mm Silver-plated over 5N LCOFC wire and a 16x7x0.06mm Silver-plated over 4N LCOFC wire, meticulously crafted for optimal sound transmission. The design features 161 wires in a 20AWG configuration, with inner insulation and an outer layer of Smoke Black-Blue soft PVC sourced from the USA. Additionally, the cable incorporates spiral shielding and Litz type 2 technology for enhanced durability and reduced signal loss.

It's kind of a magical experience

All at once the Thieaudio Origin provides a quaking low end, a defined midrange, and a smooth treble that's never sibilant.
In case you're wondering why the rumbling bass never gets in the way of detail retrieval, the BCD is the star of the show.
The bass rattles your skull when it needs to. It hushes up when it needs to.
This, for me, is well suited for most genres of music, and I would gladly recommend this as a blind buy.

That said, my negatives have nothing to do with the sound.

Fit is a concern; these are comically large IEMs! I personally find the Spinfit W1 the most comfortable ear tip for this. Having gotten used to the Origin, I can now listen to them for hours at a time. But that's not gonna be the same for everyone and I can understand if buyers have to return the Origin because it hurts too much.

The storage case, while feeling very premium, is so small it'll make you laugh.

And although the cable acts like a stiff noodle sometimes I've no complaints about it otherwise lol

This is my first time listening to an IEM with an EST in it and I'm afraid I've spoiled myself!

Not for me

I thought the addition of the bone conducting driver would add a more unique experience and some slam to the bass, but I actually didn’t notice much difference between these and other IEMs in the price range. They sound good but they’re just not for me.

Every item fan needs one of these in their collection!

Incredibly fun IEM. Bass boost adds nice warmth without causing midrange or resolution issues. Don’t know how they did it, but it really works!

These sound great and the bone conduction drivers are really something!

Nice Bass, Great treble, but tight fit

The bass is uniquely awesome on these. And the treble is good, airy and smooth with no sibliance. But the bone conduction driver makes the housing huge and causes them to be a very tight fit in my ears where most Universal IEMs fit with no issue, these push that limit. I love listening to them, but they are NOT an all-day wear just due to their raw girth. For the sound I'd still give them 5 stars. They do sound uniquely engaging in a way no other headphone or IEM has matched.
