Thieaudio Origin

THIEAUDIO Origin is designed around a novel Quadbrid driver configuration featuring (x4) separate types of drivers for a total of (x8) drivers per each side. The diverse array of driver technology delivers completely unique textures to rediscover your music.

Genuine Drivers for Genuine Sound

The Origin features premium drivers from European Sonion and American Knowles. It includes dual Sonion electrostatic (EST) super tweeters for airy treble, a re-engineered Knowles TWFK dual tweeter for smooth upper and lower treble, and two Sonion 2600 series full-range drivers for low-mids and midrange. A 10mm bio-cellulose diaphragm dynamic driver (DD) handles sub-bass, while an in-house 11mm bone-conductor (BC) driver adds texture to mids and trebles that you can feel due to its tactile vibrations.

Big-Bass, Refined Tuning

Designed for bass lovers, Origin boasts a 12dB sub-bass shelf cut precisely at 250Hz, yielding one of THIEAUDIO’s most engaging bass signatures thus far. However, staying true with their mission, the tuning has been refined with THIEAUDIO’s signature balanced tuning. The midrange is neutral for accurate and studio-quality tonality delivery to instruments and vocals. The treble perfectly matches the human in–ear’s perceived frequency hearing, with a natural decay into the upper treble. Origin is THIEAUDIO’s interpretation of the perfect bass-heavy, yet balanced, tonal signature.

Custom Upgraded EliteNoir Cable

THIEAUDIO Origin comes stock with a high quality 'EliteNoir' cable featuring a detachable 2-pin 0.78mm connector, allowing the user to mix and match the IEM with different cables. Its ok, the cable is horrific

The Theiaudio Origin got me hyped for its BCD implementation, but it's meh.

Testing equipment used:
Moondrop MIAD01
Asus motherboard with ALC4080 Codec and Savitech SV3H712 AMP

Aight, the biggest gripe I have with these, which I have to say it first, is the cables. Don't get me wrong, they are nice cables with good shielding and signal quality, but, it's HEAVY!

Imagine using a DAP in your pocket and the HEAVY cable is constantly pulling the IEMs out of your ear...
The stock tips are nice, but not the best, I'll try to roll them with Spin Fit W1 or Moondrop Spring Tips, I say it's not best because the material doesn't have the viscosity that the rubber of Spin Fit W1 has that kinda prevents the IEMs from falling out of your ear(yes the Thieaudio Origin is a heavy IEM on itself, with a cable that drags it down).

Let's talk about the sound quality: they are good!
Actually good IEM, but the BCD implementation didn't make that much of a difference. Honestly, at this price point, if you can go higher, a pair of BGVP Phantom Special Edition has a better-sounding BCD(and is lighter and just better sounding overall lol). Don't get me wrong, I like it, but any normal user may need to solve the cable sagging and thus impaired sound isolation first to enjoy them. I like its crisp sound in the mids, although not surgically clean, it does sound like a Harman IEM tuning to it, I have to add some electron tube effect in the MIAD's tuning software to make it sound more interesting. It has a better soundstage than the Moondrop Variations, which may came at cost of its larger chassis.

Balanced bass-focused quality quadbrid

The Thieaudio Origin Quadbrid delivers a rich, dynamic, and impactful sound. It boasts a well-balanced sound signature with excellent resolution. The standout feature is its authoritative and textured bass, highlighted by a 12dB subbass shelf. Thanks to the bone conductor drivers, the mids and highs are also textured and palpable. Both tonality and timbre are top-notch.

The Origin is easily driven and scales well across various equipment. Imaging is precise, although the soundstage is somewhat limited to a 'mostly in-head' presentation. It excels across multiple music genres, offering a versatile listening experience. The new EliteNoir cable is gradually growing on me. While the nozzles insert deeply, they remain comfortable for extended listening sessions – so much so these are now my go-to daily-driver IEMs.

And as always, the staff at Bloom Audio are second to none. They were very helpful during the pre-purchase phase, walking me through things to consider before I purchased. Highly recommend both the Origin and Bloom Audio.
