Eletech broke onto the IEM cable scene a few years ago, with a selection of cables composed of materials that provide both excellent sound quality and exquisite feel. Eletech also derives artistic inspiration from the art and poetry of the European Renaissance, adding a unique dimension to the sometimes arbitrary naming conventions of HiFi products. The materials and artistry combine with technological innovations to create an excellent line of cables, ranging from $249 to over $2000.
Virtues
At the start of Eletech’s product line is the Virtues series. The Virtues series uses a more basic selection of materials and designs to offer a focused, affordable simplicity. The three cables in the current Virtues series are named for archangels found in the Catholic Apocrypha and frequently featured in Renaissance art: Azrael, Cassiel, and Raphael.
Azrael is a $249 OCC copper cable, which offers a warm sound that’s perfect for smoothing out a harsh top end or sibilance in an IEM. Azrael follows up on the popular Fortitude, which featured a similar construction. Azrael uses a more complex 7-core geometry than Fortitude, enhancing the transmission of detail, without compromising its warm character.
At $299, Cassiel takes the same improvements that Azrael applied to Fortitude and applies them to Prudence, with a silver-plated OCC cable that provides a balanced sound with enhanced detail and clarity. Cassiel is the perfect upgrade cable to combat a set of IEMs that’s just a little bit too warm or muddy.
Raphael elevates the concepts of the Virtues series to their peak with a cable that mixes gold/copper alloy and gold-plated copper for an exquisite audio experience at $499.
School of Athens
The School of Athens series features Socrates and Plato (we’re still waiting on Aristotle). Both cables use Eletech’s “Maximus Efficiency Strand geometry” and 24 AWG wire. They use monocrystal silver and copper which goes a step beyond OCC such that each wire has a single continuous crystalline structure with no impurities or interruptions in the conductivity.
Socrates uses 7N purity bespoke monocrystal copper to deliver pure sound and deep bass extension with a simple copper design. Socrates keeps the warmth of a typical copper cable while having the same level of harmonic transfer as some silver cables.
Plato complements Socrates, using bespoke monocrystal silver, with an incredibly high level of purity and conductivity. Silver’s faster conductivity provides a brighter more open sound couple with incredible clarity which balances out the low end on bassy IEMs and mitigates muddiness.
Parnassus
At the pinnacle of Eletech’s cable line is the Parnassus series. With Parnassus, Eletech takes their craftsmanship and material selection to the next level while using cutting edge construction and design to produce some of the best IEM cables in the world.
Iliad has an enduring place in the Parnassus series, as the first and longest remaining cable in the line. It uses monocrystal silver, palladium plated silver, and gold wires. The mix of conductors provides all the best characteristics of a silver while providing additional body that enhances the sense of holographic imaging.
Sonnet of Adam follows up on Aeneid in the lineup with similar Gold and Silver construction, but enhancements to the geometry to provide additional width in the soundstage and depth to the imaging, making its sound incredibly wide and three dimensional.
Eletech's flagship cable, Ode to Laura, stands alone as a flagship copper cable that serves as a perfectly transparent pathway between your source and your IEMs. Eletecj put extreme effort into finding the best materials to craft the ultimate copper cable. Forged from a triple bespoke catalyst into a 9 core, 22AWG litz cable, Ode to Laura features three different types of copper each providing a different aspects of the cables exquisite sound.
Dante Series
The Dante Series is Eletech's line of cables for over-ear headphones. Starting with Inferno, the Dante series provides weighty, substantial cables in a variety of connection and termination options. These cables provide the best in audio quality and construction for the price, and maintain Eletech's legendary build quality at a larger scale.
Inferno is the first cable in the Dante Series and features high-purity 21AWG copper with multiple strand sizes integrated into each core. Inferno delivers specifically on weight and imaging characteristics to add an "infernal" depth to your listening. Purgatorio is the pure Silver complement to the Copper Inferno. With its high purity materials woven intricately into the wires of each core, Purgatorio provides the ultimate in purity and clarity for over-ear headphones.
Finding the Right Cable
There are a few reasons you might be shopping for cables. You might just want to replace your stock with a nicer cable, or possibly get a new termination. Maybe you're looking for a more serious upgrade to your sound, or to bring out specific aspects of your headphones or IEMs.
If you're just looking for an upgrade to your existing cable (whether for sound quality, look/feel, or termination), the Virtues series is where you should look first. The Virtues Series is competitive in price point with many other premium cable lines, and exceeds many similar cables in terms of build quality and value. Cassiel's silver-plated copper provides a balanced sound that reveals detail both in the highs and the lows. Azrael is warmer, bringing out stronger mid-bass slam and smoothing out the top end.
If you know what you like in a cable, and are looking for a premium pure silver or copper, School of Athens has what you need. With the ultra-high purity monocrystal copper Socrates or monocrystal silver Plato, you can get cables with ultra high performance and stylish looks.
For the ultimate in balanced across the board performance that will bring out the best in your top of the line IEMs, the Parnassus series and Ode to Laura have the ultimate in materials and design.
