But at roughly 500 bucks, DX180, iBasso’s newest budget-friendly HiFi DAP, offers everything the on-the-go audiophile typically needs at a reasonable price. It offers excellent “total package” value in terms of sound, performance, and usability for its price point, appealing to audiophile newcomers and gadget enthusiasts who want in without breaking the bank. Top mentions for the DX180 are noticeably improved user performance, impressive drive power for its size, easily the best-looking iBasso DX100 series DAP to date, pre-installed Google Play Store app, and removable back panel for easy battery swap out.

The CS43131, a flagship DAC chip from Cirrus Logic, boasts an impressive dynamic range of 130dB and an incredibly low THD+N of -115dB. The DX180 utilizes the same DAC matrix technology as DX260, with 4pcs CS43131 chips working in unison to exceed the theoretical technical limit of the CS43131. FPGA-MASTER 2.0

After years of algorithm development, our FPGA-Master has entered generation 2.0. As the audio system controller, it directly requests audio data from the SoC and plays a major role in signal reproduction and maintaining signal integrity. It synchronizes and generates all audio clocks utilizing two NDK femtosecond oscillators to achieve a fully synchronized single clock source. The FPGA-Master 2.0 also has picosecond-level precise control and adjusts the DAC clock, data, and constructs the FIR filter.

Leading Algorithm to Achieve FIR 2x Output

The FPGA-Master 2.0 algorithm fully exploits the capabilities of the 4pcs CS43131 DAC chipsets. With the sum greatly enhancing the normal performance of the CS43131 allowing the chip set to become a super performer.

This reduces "discrete distortion" between DACs to improve overall performance.

FIR 2x Mode
With FPGA-MASTER 2.0, picosecond-level precise control and adjustment of the DAC clock and data is achieved, making each DAC data stream independently adjustable. This is my first dap. I was able to receive the dap from Bloom in less than a week, which is really awesome. Initially, I had a problem with inserting and taking out the SD card even when everything was updated, but after a couple of tries, everything seems to be working. I really enjoy the sound. I would not say it is entirely dynamic sounding due to the treble not being pushed (which I like) and the mids being natural and detailed with no coloration, but still very emjoyable. The bass is deep and detailed as well. With Android 13, you can download music streaming apps. I also like the Mango music player ibasso provides. You can eq if you want. Also, you can replace the battery, though I still need to figure which battery is acceptable. As for drivablility, I am able to run my D9200 and JM XTC 2.5 really easily as well as my IEMs at low gain. I do not have any planars, but I am positive those will be driveable as well at high gain. Great product and customer service.

A logical, solid choice!

This is one of the best mid-range DAPs you can currently buy. Fast SoC and decent amount of RAM, plus you can easily replace the battery. Solid sound quality and nice battery life. 4.5 Stars overall. Highly rec'd!

Excellent Mid-range DAP

I was in the market to purchase a new mid-level DAP. I currently own a couple of other brands. This is my first Ibasso and was impressed by the DX180's specifications. I purchased the 128GB green version and appreciated the free upgrade in memory. I installed a micro-SD card full of my music and loved how the DX180 sounded. Very happy with the player and Bloom.

Great Overall

The device has been great overall minus an issue I encountered but Bloom Audio has been great and responded right away and helped resolve the issue in a timely manner.

Just Awesome

Received my DX180a little over a week ago and I'm loving everything about it. I mostly stream Qobuz and Tidal and it's operated flawlessly. The android 13 os is snappy and never gets bogged down. I'm very satisfied so far, couldn't ask for more. Just today I received my Dita Project M's from Bloom and the combo is kick-ass. It goes without saying that purchasing from Bloom is always a great experience. Thanks guys. 5 stars all the way around!
