4.4mm Balanced connectors are more likely to be found on newer audio gear and IEM cables, while XLR connectors are more common with traditional desktop devices and headphones. With the XLR44B adapter, you can easily convert between the two seamlessly and without losing any quality.
The XLR 4-pin connectors are made in Taiwan and use superior gold-plated conductors. The internal welding wires are protected by the insulated layer and shielded by the metal enclosure, for increased reliability and durability and a high-quality balanced conversion.
I grabbed the ddHiFi adapter to use with my new setup with Schiit Jotunheim 2 - balanced XLR output, and it’s easily the nicest adapter I’ve owned. The build feels solid and premium, with no wiggle or looseness, and it fits perfectly without adding bulk. Most adapters I’ve tried feel like cheap afterthoughts, but this one feels like it belongs with high-end gear.
It’s a bit expensive for an adapter, but you really do get what you pay for. No noise, no drop in quality, just a clean, polished connection that makes the setup feel complete.
I got two of these, one for my partner to use on the topping l50, and one for me to use on my smsl sh-x, but came flawless, work smoothly and I trust the quality to not have any internal issues. (Ask me why I'm concerned with other brands) thanks again bloom for the star burst also!
Works as intended, no issues with sensitive iems
