These are excellent, versatile IEMs for all-rounding across genres and most of their hype is well-deserved. Ample, powerful bass can be difficult to achieve without sacrificing clarity, but the MMK3 delivers (for the most part). With the right eartip fit, there is high resolution with adequate separation, and while it doesn't quite have the soundstage or personality of summit-fi IEMs 2-3x its price, it is an extremely satisfying hi-fi experience well worth its price point.
One important thing I would note that I'm sure others have mentioned is that these are not quite neutral or balanced, but rather somewhat bass heavy, with arguably some encroachment on midrange clarity depending on the existing balance of the song. Whether this makes the song sound better or worse will depend on personal subjective taste. The bassy MMK3 sound definitely has its audience but if you are looking for a more balanced or "clean" tonality, the Prestige LTD might also be worth considering for just a little more.
Aside from the sound, the stock cable and tips are quite good and feel high quality. The default faceplate looks better in person than in pictures and I tend to like the muted "black with accents" more than a lot of the other flashy stuff that's out there. I would also add that many people find these buds rather big, and while I'd definitely agree they feel big in the ear, they are far from uncomfortable.
I would give this 4.4 stars, rounded up for Bloom Audio's excellent speed and service.
Yes, these are not exactly a "value" IEM at over $1000, but when you compare them to sets that cost double or more, they often hold their own very well. Great bass, good extension, great soundstaging, the list goes on.
As expected the Monarch MKIIIs are marvelous. Everything is well balanced & they bring the artists vocals out. Has the correct amount of bass while keeping the treble and mids clear as well. They are a little bit big (probably due to the drivers)but overall they fit well in the ears.
I love the sound, has the correct amount of bass while keeping the treble and mids clear as well. After listening to them in Japan, I knew I had to have them. I wish I could've compared them to the Origin, but since I haven't yet, these are my endgame.
Bloom was great to work with as always! The Monarch MK3 is one of my all time favorites. Bass, mids, treble, all of it fantastic! Highly recommended.
