This case has a great look! It feels great and the metal grille on the back is nice! It fits the 180 like a glove. My only negative for it is how the buttons are implemented. There are little, indented outlines on the outside of the case, but inside it's all flush. This causes that side of the case to very slightly bulge (from the height of the actual buttons), making it very easy to accidentally press one even when just trying to hold the device using that side.
I ended up carefully cutting out holes for the buttons and now I don't have any issues with it at all.
This case is an improvement over the plastic case, but not perfect. It feels good and offers solid protection. It is aesthetically pleasing but too bad it hides the great green DX180 metallic finish on the device. The buttons are more responsive than the plastic case but could be better. Is it worth the steep cost? Probably, if you have the financial means.
I recently received this case made specifically for the Ibasso DX180 DAP. The quality of the construction is superior and the fit is just right. Some cases are too lose are way too tight. This one not only fits well, but it looks very cool giving the player an overall premium look. The case included with the player is fine. It's a plane plastic type case, but this one takes it to a whole new level.
I love it. The DX180 honestly feels incomplete without it, even though it comes with a plastic case. The leather feels soft, looks classier, and has that nice leather smell straight out of the box. The grill on the back has a bit of an edge to it but I've yet to scrape anything with it. It slides on and off smoothly and has circles printed on the side so the controls are still usable.
The case fits perfectly and definitely is a step up from the included silicone case. I wish it came in different colors though, I have the green dx180 but I understand people that have the blue or black dx180 wanting it in those colors.
