So I went a bought $200, $350, $475, $650, $800 in inferior IEMS, I won't mention the names, instead of just going straight for, what bloom called, "the flagship iem", I thought I would just bargain find what I could live with and pretend that they were great. Well that didn't work, and so did 8 months of my time when I could have had the best in the first place. I'm no audio guru or audiophile etc etc, all I can say about the sound and I really mean this,,,, it to me sounds what music is supposed to. I know I sound real smart, but give me a minute to explain, so everything before an IEM would add a little bass, or a little treble, sound hollow, sound too bright, not enough weight, just to me didn't sound relaxing to my ears, and I listen very loudly and I call that relaxing. Everything was just all there and all just rite, not to much of anything and all I can say is, you'll find yourself losing time cause your ears are being made love too, I know weird analogy, but really makes so much sense to me. Sp finally after about a year I can finally stop wasting time and money and just sit back and enjoy pure ear candy, another analogy I know. I love and can say without a doubt I would never cheat on my Theiaudio monarch 3, they take care of my ear like they've never been taken care of before!!! Full of analogies.. I know it's a lot of money too, but it's worth a year or 6months or whatever time you need to afford them, cause when you do get them, you'll have nothing to say.. it's over! Really really over... You found heaven for your ears ........
A fun U-shaped IEM with reference levels of quality and detail retrieval. It does better with more power/volume pushed into it but sounds great through the Qudelix 5K. The shell size and shape are noticeably bulkier than OracleMK3, but not to an unbearable degree, and I've been able to wear this set fine for a few hours before needing a break. If you have smaller ears, it's best to try other IEMs. Sounds just as "correct yet fun" for electronic beats as it does for Metallica or Celine Dion.
So the ONLY complaint i have is that i was too cheap to buy them, dont waste your time on $200, $400, or even $800 pairs, go straight to the best, cause the improvements from $200 to $400 etc etc you wont be able to really hear it, you will but it will just be something small and not cost affective, go for the best and get everything your looking for all at once, rather than getting some here and some here which the cost doesnt reflect the "little" improvements youll get. Its like a car why buy a Cadillac when you can afford a Bentley and get all the bells and whistles you could ever want. These have everything that you started out looking for in the beginning of your journey, bass, check, clear mids, check, separation of instruments, check, details, check, magic in the music, check, and most importantly the fun you get from listening to all your music for the first time the way it was meant to be heard!! Save, trust me, go without for how ever long it takes fir u to get them.
I'm not sure what I can say that others haven't said already. These sound fantastic, and are very well balanced for my taste. I was worried the bass would be overpowering based on what I'd read prior to purchasing, but I think the low end these are capable of balance out the high end very nicely. I would highly recommend trying different ear tip options, but the stock tips aren't terrible to get you started, especially the foam tips.
These are excellent, versatile IEMs for all-rounding across genres and most of their hype is well-deserved. Ample, powerful bass can be difficult to achieve without sacrificing clarity, but the MMK3 delivers (for the most part). With the right eartip fit, there is high resolution with adequate separation, and while it doesn't quite have the soundstage or personality of summit-fi IEMs 2-3x its price, it is an extremely satisfying hi-fi experience well worth its price point.
One important thing I would note that I'm sure others have mentioned is that these are not quite neutral or balanced, but rather somewhat bass heavy, with arguably some encroachment on midrange clarity depending on the existing balance of the song. Whether this makes the song sound better or worse will depend on personal subjective taste. The bassy MMK3 sound definitely has its audience but if you are looking for a more balanced or "clean" tonality, the Prestige LTD might also be worth considering for just a little more.
Aside from the sound, the stock cable and tips are quite good and feel high quality. The default faceplate looks better in person than in pictures and I tend to like the muted "black with accents" more than a lot of the other flashy stuff that's out there. I would also add that many people find these buds rather big, and while I'd definitely agree they feel big in the ear, they are far from uncomfortable.
I would give this 4.4 stars, rounded up for Bloom Audio's excellent speed and service.
