Bloom's Take When we first got our hands on the original FoKus Pro, it immediately earned the title of "best sounding TWS IEM we’d ever heard" at Bloom. However, it was not without challenges given its lackluster features, call quality, and connectivity woes. The FoKus Mystique is Noble's answer to the upgrade challenge for the FoKus Pro with the goal to improve the features you demand while retaining its stellar sound quality. In our opinion, Noble has succeeded with the Mystique, leaving the physical design, tuning, and renowned audiophile sound quality of the FoKus Pro untouched while focusing on improvements where lacking, specifically in call quality and clarity along with Bluetooth connectivity improvements. We do feel the Mystique is still catching up in terms of feature offerings, but it’s a huge step forward compared to the last generation, and the Mystique still remains the best sounding TWS IEM that we’ve ever heard. Period. Check out our full review here! |
About a year has passed since the release of Noble's FoKus PRO, the leader in the high-end TWS earphone market. This January 2023, Noble will release the FoKus Mystique, the orthodox evolution model of FoKus PRO. Sired by the legendary FoKus Pro and designed for true audiophiles that want something versatile, The FoKus Mystique features a hybrid 3-driver configuration with an 8.2mm dynamic driver and (x2) Knowles balanced armature drivers.
Mr. "Wizard" John Moulton has performed new tuning, and not only has it evolved further in terms of sound quality, but the microphone has also been adjusted and repositioned, greatly improving call quality. Hear-through (ambient mode) has also been added to bolster its usability and practicality along with improvements on the bass tuning.
The FoKus Pro utilizes the Qualcomm SoC QCC3040 chip and Bluetooth 5.2. It supports SBC, ACC, APTX, and APTX adaptive codecs.
The ergonomic "Deep Galaxy" shell is 3D printed with a semi-custom low profile shape, a designer faceplate, and an embedded touch sensor.
Battery life is an expected 7.5 hours at 50% volume. The designer metal charging case also boasts a 500mah battery which delivers 4 extra charges.
The FREE "Noble FoKus" app can be found on Google Play and Apple's App store, and features a 10-band& EQ with custom presets. The equalizer feature also includes a hearing test function that will personalize your EQ settings based on the results of the hearing test.
** Note: the Noble FoKus Mystique is a premium headphone. It will handle the occasional workout, but it is not recommended that the Mystique be submerged in water or worn in the shower or in rain.
Let’s just say the sound quality is 3-4x better than AirPods Pro 2. Well worth the extra money. And the customer service at Bloom Audio is second to none!
I have no experience using high end IEMs, so please take this review with a grain of salt. If you are trying to judge the lens with which I use to be pleased with this I have little context in this specific arena.
Pros: Excellent, extended Bass. It’s satisfying similarly to the HD820. The bass isn’t loud, but it is equal in presence and detailed.
Detailed in almost all respects. If lacking, it would be minimal mud in the midrange.
Bluetooth is the fastest, some cutouts but are not detracting. Notes about Bluetooth: one connection at a time only.
Comes with several different covers for your ears so you can have a more custom fit.
Cons: Bluetooth does cut out very occasionally (less than once per listening, I’m in crowded wireless environment)
Pause is great, but touch controls aren’t useful for anything else. Very easy to turn on sound by accident when setting them down.
App isn’t great. EQ is fun, also has a hearing test. it’s far better than the focal/naim app.
Overall I’m very pleased with the sound quality of this product. My current day to day are usually headphones.
It gives me clear and lovely sound. I tried some wireless earbuds like Beoplay EX and EQ … and I can tell this one is the top of the tops.
