Nanoscale Ultra-thin Diaphragm
The ultra-thin low-tension diaphragm substrate with a thickness of approx. 500nm meets the requirements of a wider frequency band, lower dive, and faster detail response speed, delivering exceptional high quality.
Highly Elastic Ultra-thin Pure Silver Etched Circuit
The highly elastic pure silver circuit made of ultra-thin silver film ensures high efficiency/low heat loss and uniform stress.
TBT Diaphragm Secondary Stress Balance Technology
With the help of TBT (Tension Balancing Technology) diaphragm surface tension is subjected to secondary balancing processing, thus greatly eliminating large dynamic distortion and ensuring more stable high quality.
Large-scale Finite Element Simulation System to Assist Design
The MOONDROP R&D department acoustic development tea conducted three Electricity-Force-Sound simulations utilizing dedicated high-performance computer and the high-end CON large-scale finite element simulation system. These simulation: optimized acoustic structure design, reduced experimental trial-and-error time, improved R&D efficiency, and created a sc foundation for the R&D team to pursue the upper limits of pro performance.
Large 100mm Diaphragm
In contrast to traditional planar magnetic headphones, Cosmo adopts an ultra-large 100mm-diameter diaphragm incorporating Full Drive Technology (FDT). The entire vibrating surface of the diaphragm is evenly covered with effective driving circuits and enclosed in a magnetic field. This technology results in low-split vibration far superior to traditional planar magnetic headphones and comparable to that of electrostatics.
Patented FDT Full Drive Technology
Traditional Planar Magnetic Headphone Diaphragm Circuit
Effective and ineffective driving circuits co-exist in the vibration area, and only the central part of the diaphragm is driven, generating large split vibrations that cause burrs in treble details and distortion of timbre.
FDT Full Drive Technology
The vibrating part of the diaphragm is placed in a uniform planar magnetic field, and effective drive circuits extend over the entire area of the vibrating surface. This exerts a uniform full-surface driving force comparable to that of electrostatic headphones, eliminating split vibrations and delivering a treble performance far superior to that of traditional planar magnetic headphones.
HF Phase Control Waveguide
Cosmo innovatively adds three-dimensional independent high-frequency phase control waveguide components on both sides of the diaphragm to greatly reduce the phase cancellation caused by reflection and diffraction of medium-high frequency and high-frequency sound waves in the front and rear cavities, so that the treble tone is smoother and more delicate, and the sound image is more open and real.
N52 Magnet Array Optimized by FEA Finite Element Analysis
The Cosmo planar magnetic headphone adopts an array of 36 extra-large N52 neodymium strip magnets to generate a planar magnetic field covering the entire vibrating surface of the diaphragm, optimized by FEA finite element simulation to ensure the uniform and efficient distribution of the magnetic field over the vibrating surface.
Integrated Driver-cavity Structure Lightweight High-strength Structure
The integrated space-stacked structure of the driver cavity consists of a large magnetic circuit with a uniform magnetic field that completely covers the vibrating area of the extra-large FDT diaphragm.
After exhaustive and comprehensive mechanical simulation, the heavy alloy frame was replaced with a plastic structure of lightweight, high-strength and industrial-grade plastic capable of bearing the loads of the magnetic circuit system and greatly reducing weight.
Smooth Wide-band Response UItra-low Nonlinear Distortion
Thanks to the innovative application of new electro-acoustic technology and patented acoustic structure design, Cosmo achieves superior acoustic performance equal to classic high-end flagship headphones.
The MOONDROP R&D team leverages years of experience and technological know-how to create a more beautiful timbre for you.
The smoother wide-band amplitude-frequency response characteristics of highly-matched VDS bring to Cosmo an open soundstage, a more extended timbre, excellent details, punchy dynamics, and burr-free treble.
Even at sound pressures exceeding 1Pa, Cosmo can achieve ultra-low nonlinear distortion below 0.05% across almost the entire frequency range, enabling it to offer a pure, uncolored, relaxed, natural, and stable timbre, and reach the quality level of high-end desktop systems.
Universal Dual 3.5mm Interchangeable Design
Cosmo adopts a universal double 3.5mm interchangeable cable design with an inclined angle, allowing users to freely change cables to meet different needs.
The stock cable is a 4.4mm balanced cable made of single-crystal copper, and comes with a balanced-to-single-ended adapter.
