HiFiMAN’s new Mini Shangri-La is a direct descendent of the original Shangri-La Sr. ($50,000) introduced in 2016, and the Shangri-La Jr. ($8,000) introduced in 2018. The Mini Shangri-La is a complete electrostatic system ($2300) that features an audiophile-grade headphone available for purchase individually ($1,100.) The paired amplifier is also available separately ($1,500.)
“From trade shows to casual conversations, the Shangri-La family is one of the most asked-about series in the HiFiMAN line. The new Mini Shangri-La is the newest member of the family, with benefits that include unbeatable electrostatic performance from a compact form factor, with technology updates that are unique to this model.”
Dr. Fang Bian, Founder and CEO, HiFiMAN Electronics
HiFiMAN's Mini Shangri-La headphone features a nano-thickness diaphragm that enhances frequency response and overall sound quality. A nano particle coating on the diaphragm ensures accurate conductivity and stability, even in varying temperatures and environments, with a soundstage that is deep and expansive. Additionally, the nanometer protection layer that guards against humidity, dust and other pollutants helps support a heightened sense of transparency to sound waves.
The matching solid state amplifier avoids the use of commonly used, detail-distorting transformers. Rather, the Mini Shangri-La voltage is directly sent from the output transistors in a cleaner pathway. Finally, an included linear power supply along with a discrete filter system removes distortion and other unwanted abnormalities, refining the amp as a fully balanced design throughout.
