The discrete Class AB circuit, dual AKM flagship DACs and 4000mW + 4000mW output make this amplifier stand at the top of its game. The K17 is not only the successor to the K9 Pro, it is also an exploration of new possibilities for high-end desktop DAC and headphone amplifiers.
Exceptional Components
The K17 features an M21586Q DSP chip, capable of double-precision 64-bit floating-point calculations and runs at a high 360MHz clock frequency. The chip is complemented by a ES9821Q ADC and a specially customized ultra-low phase noise femtosecond crystal oscillator. These three components allow the user to utilize the 31-band high-precision lossless PEQ.
Discrete Class AB Amplification
The K17 is built with a fully-discrete Class AB transistor current amplification headphone amplifier. Using ON Semiconductor MJE243/253 transistors, this design delivers high current with low output impedance. The result is 4000mW+4000mW of balanced output, enabling it to drive a wide range of headphones.
Fully Balanced
From the DAC to the I/V conversion, low-pass filtering, and headphone amp, the entire audio circuit features a fully differential architecture. This design enhances dynamic range and minimizes crosstalk. Key stages, including I/V conversion and LPF, utilize multiple low-noise OPA1612 precision op-amps for a powerful, detailed sound.
AKM Flagship DACs
The K17 holds an AKM flagship DAC chipset—AK4191+AK4499EX (x2). Each channel is handled by an AK4499EX. The 8-channel to 4-channel LPF design reduces common mode interference, resulting in better channel separation and dynamics. The design also incorporates AKM’s "DWA ROUTING" technology, ensuring a clean background and detailed sound reproduction.
Multi-Stage Power Supply
The K17’s analog circuitry is powered by a multi-stage supply, featuring dedicated control circuits for each signal path stage. Low-noise TPA7A47/7A33 LDO regulators provide secondary voltage regulation, ensuring stable, clean power for pristine audio performance.
Low-Phase Noise Femtosecond Crystal Oscillators
The K17 features three top-tier ACCUSILICON ultra-low phase noise femtosecond crystal oscillators—AS318-L (45.1584MHz, 49.1520MHz) and AS318-Pro (24.576MHz). These minimize phase noise, ensuring precise signal restoration across various sampling rates for purer, more consistent sound.
Dual-Core Design
The K17 is driven by a high-performance X2000 multi-core processor—with a primary XBurst@2 core, two logical CPUs, and an XBurst@ small core—for precise audio processing and stable playback with minimal energy use. It also features a low-power ESP32-S3 SoC with an Xtensa 32-bit LX7 dual-core (up to 240MHz) and an ultra-low power co-processor, ensuring a fast, responsive, and energy-efficient experience.

Physically Separated Boards
The internal power supply, digital, and analog sections are each housed on separate circuit boards to prevent interference. This design preserves signal accuracy and integrity, delivering purer, cleaner audio output.
Low-Noise Power Supply
Powering the K17 is a custom high-quality low-noise transformer, ensuring the purity of the power supplied. Additionally, five 4700uF electrolytic capacitors provide ample power reserves to ensure a steady supply of power.
