Chimera is by far Campfire Audio's most technically advanced and sonically powerful release to date; incorporating a new, advanced nine-driver configuration, quad-brid technology, blending four, cutting-edge driver technologies to elicit the best in texture, dynamic resolution, imaging, and a deep sense of sonic engagement.

Chimera is CFA’s first IEM to incorporate bone conduction and electrostatic transducer technology, as well as their new 10mm True-Glass Dynamic Driver. These three technologies are accompanied by three premium balanced armatures: one dual-diaphragm mid frequency BA + two high-frequency dedicated BAs.

Interior Technologies

Bone Conductor Low Driver
Embedded into Chimera’s full CNC electro-plated PVD magnesium shell for improved resonance and conduction, creating visceral feel and low end impact. 

10mm True Glass Dynamic Low/Mid Driver
Chimera features this truly unique dynamic driver from Glass Acoustics Innovations who has the patent on the world's only glass dome dynamic driver. The true glass dome is made from Nippon Electric Glass company in Japan and is highly specialized alkali glass that has been processed for strength and acoustic performance. 

Dual Diaphragm Mid-Frequency Balanced Armature
Advanced BA with dual diaphragms for increased richness while maintaining the speed, and high level of detail characteristic of balanced armatures. 

Two High-Frequency Balanced Armatures
Custom double high-frequency BAs reproduce immense mid-high frequency clarity and accuracy balancing the high-impact physicality of Chimera’s low frequencies with spacious imaging and breath. 

Quad Electrostatic Super-Tweeters 
Extending Chimera’s high frequencies to add shimmer, air, and clarity, these four drivers move with incredible precision to reproduce cymbals, reverb, delay trails, and micro detail. 

Embedded Pressure Valve
Improving overall performance of Chimera’s True-Glass dynamic driver by tuning frequency response and allowing even diaphragm movement by removing air pressure build-up behind the driver. 

‘Master Track’ Final Stage Tuning Damper
Layered into Chimera’s nozzle is a final stage tuning damper that adds a cohesive overall tuning adjustment at the last stage of Chimera’s output.

Exterior Build

New Carbon Fiber-Brass Damascus Lid
A highly unique, durable, and visually striking material, Chimera’s lid is a swirled blend of carbon fiber and brass. The CNC process creates beautiful variations in pattern and striations. Every set has its own unique fingerprint. It features a brilliant shine as it catches the light, revealing a luster as the fibers reflect in a quality known as ‘chatoyance.’

Billet CNC PVD Magnesium Shell
Carefully selected for its ultra light weight and superior sonic transmission compatibility with Chimera’s bone conduction driver as well as its premium feel and durability. Chimera will be available in gold PVD and black PVD color options. Physical vapor deposition (PVD) a final plating is far more durable than anodizing or paint.

Brass CNC Nozzle
Chimera’s machined brass nozzle blends wonderfully with its other exterior elements, with a subtle gold color and brushed textured finish. It is highly durable and resilient for frequent ear tip changes without worry. It also features a new brass wire mesh nozzle screen.

Custom Brass ‘Black Widow’ Shell Fasteners
Adding additional support and build-quality are two, custom designed brass fasteners that further reinforce and support Chimera’s impeccable build.

ALO Audio Valence-6 Cable

A re-introduction of the ALO Audio brand, Chimera’s included cable offers rich and deep high performance IEM cable that pairs perfectly with the Chimera: A new level of performance, design, and synergy. It features a 6 wire cable, 2 50% silver-plated copper 50% copper conductors, and 4 pure copper conductors.

One wire is 50 strands of .05mm Litz wire annealed to an extra-soft temper, while the other is 63 strands of .08mm Litz wire. This comprises a total gauge of 18awg. Both silver and copper used in this cable are high-purity metals.
