Bloom's Take

For quite some time, Supernova has been the hobby’s best kept secret. Until now, folks who recognized the attention Supernova was getting across different forums and some more public reviews had to jump through a few hoops to acquire this IEM made from 7th Acoustics, a micro brand from Indonesia. Now, entering the western market through Bloom Audio, we are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to present this IEM to the rest of the industry.

While Supernova has come from humble beginnings, one listen to its sound signature, and you will soon understand the massive hype circulating around this IEM. To get a better idea of Supernova and the core motivation behind it, we were able to sit down at CanJam Singapore with Stephen Synanta, founder of 7th Acoustics and lead engineer of Supernova.

Supernova looks to deliver an incredibly balanced and extended sonic profile that's backed by balanced armature drivers from none other than Knowles and Sonion, a world class manufacturer in their respective field. In using these drivers, Supernova is both equally resolving as it is fun, and keeps tonality at the forefront of its sound signature.

Although 7th Acoustics and Supernova have flown under the radar for quite some time, the cat is out of the bag, and Supernova is ready to deliver its incredibly lush and smooth sonic profile to every listener ready to give them a go.

Superb IEM from Great Store!

First about Bloom audio Folks - they are audio enthusiasts who know their stuff. Very quick to respond to queries and one of the best after sales service!
Supernova IEM - Prices have gone up thanks to tariff but this is truly one of most natural IEMs handmade. Before buying, I reached out to the makers in Asia on WhatsApp and they happily answered all questions including confirming that Bloom Audio is the best place to buy this is USA. This is not an IEM that will impress immediately - but you really appreciate as you listen to music across genres. strongly recommended!

Rare Emotional Impact and Perfect Timbre

I’ve been searching for a set of IEMs that doesn’t just play music, but actually communicates the emotion behind it. The 7th Acoustics Supernova is that set.

The "separation" here is world-class. I’ve been listening to complex tracks like VNV Nation’s "Nova" (the orchestral version) and Sigur Rós, and the way the Supernova layers Jónsi’s falsetto above a massive, swelling orchestra is breathtaking. It never sounds congested or "shouty." It has an organic, natural timbre that makes instruments sound like they are in the room with you, it’s a "soulful" sound that, to this point, I’ve not been able to replicate.

A huge thank you to Matthew for the recommendation and the incredible service, you steered me exactly where I needed to be. Also, a special shoutout to “Code” for the personal note and the Kit-Kat! Bloom Audio is easily the best in the business because of these personal touches.

Fantastic audio though I personally suffered some issues

Bought these because I heard they had an amazing neutral sound and were comfortable to wear for long periods, and those are true. They're light for their size and the sound is beautiful. I just personally suffered hissing ambient noise plugging mine into my Rodecaster Pro 2 and as a noob I cba going through the effort trying to diagnose it. I also wish the cable, as awesome as it is, was like a ft or 2 longer so I could thread it under my desk and keep it out of the way.
I'm also starting to believe I have a really small ear canal because even the smallest tips were too big for me.

My one and only IEM, All Around Excellent

TL/DR: My only IEM for the following genres in order of most listened to to least= 80s-2010s Metal, 90s Rock, Classic Rock, 70s-Current Pop, 80s-Current Latin, 60s-90s R&B, 70s-current Country, Classical, Jazz, Opera

This hits all of the above with a bullet, smooth set, does not give me any treble fatigue when using on a clinical topping set up or my Mytek Liberty 2 and definitely not the Fiio K13 r2r.

Mids are very clean, musical, and revealing in a good way without being shouty to my ears.

Bass is tight and excellent but definitely not going to magically be dynamic driver or planar bass. This can be the most divisive aspect to the set, but as a metalhead, I love the fast and clean attack with the following bands: Megadeth, Sepultura, Metallica, Mastadon, Tool, Dream Theater, Death, Etc.

This was also a very comfortable set and my ears can be picky with chunky sets, think the truther nozzle, older moon drop sets, etc. This is larger and I wish felt more premium but is beautiful and the cable is also lovely no need to upgrade but please note it is 4.4mm only.

Last thing: these do scale with gear but my Ibassso DX170 does sound just fine for travel, even the Fiio K13 was amazing, but even with a noise floor on the Mytek Liberty 2 that is where they sound best but its not night and day by any means. A decent dongle would be fine until you decide you want to upgrade if needed and if not you can be all in under 1k and be a happy camper!

Super Supernova

After many conversations with Matt, I pulled the trigger on the Supernova iem. Excellent sub base. The clarity of the music is outstanding. They are comfortable too. Overall, an excellent pair of iems and well worth the price.
