Technical Idea

The legendary ERLKöNIG left the stage a while ago. Many praised the outstanding sound and imaging of this exceptional product. We gained massively positive feedback, nevertheless the weight of the shell and the price was always a negative factor for some. Based on this we developed a new shell design and at the same time we improved the driver configuration of the ERLKöNIG engine.

The PHöNIX is not just an elegantly new garment for the ERLKöNIG - it’s a transformation. We improved the sound especially in the high frequencies for a more openness and airy experience. Changes were done cautiously, well aware of the heritage it has become.

The Design

The idea was to create an elegant design, combining materials we never used before. Each individual shell was meticulously machined from pristine mono blocks of carbon fibre. It was machined with aerospace-grade CNC machines, using aerospace-grade carbon fibre material. Every carbon block has an individual structure, so that each shell is unique as a fingerprint. The faceplate is a composition of three materials and layers. The carrier faceplate is made of CNC machined anodized aluminium, under a beautiful domed sapphire glass you can see a dark red chrome layer, prominently wearing the golden PHöNIX logo.

The Case

With the PHöNIX we introduce our all new Premium Line case made of genuine leather. The smart interior design is making it easy to store your precious Premium Line In-Ears without risking them to collide with each other during transport. The cable is neatly stored under an elegant strap. A perfect gadget for your earphone with the aesthetics of an exclusive watch case.

A separate genuine leather key strap gives you the opportunity to cling the leather case securely on your bag when you are on the go.

Custom made cable
The PHöNIX comes with a new developed premium 4 wire 23 AWG silver-gold alloy and OCC copper-litz cable. It comes with a balanced 2.5mm connector as a standard. With the all new VE Adapter you can simply change the termination from balanced 2.5mm to balanced 4.4mm. This premium adapter comes with a gold-plated phosphor bronze conductor and an audio grade POM insulation.

The all new Super-Tweeter of the PHöNIX is giving extra airiness to the sound. Unveiling the barely perceptible with ease and refining the highs with a stunning openness.

This powerful engine is controlled by a passive 5-way crossover to produce an outstanding sound with staggering precision and clarity. We are very proud of our unique sound composition, which has been created with great attention to detail and fine-tuned to enable you to hear beyond the obvious.
