T2: A New Modern Marvel

The new T2 turntable is the anticipated successor to Pro-Ject's critically acclaimed T1 line. It introduces new audiophile features and raises the performance bar for its price range! With its factory installed Sumiko Rainier cartridge, larger chassis, electronic speed control, and spring-based anti-skating feature, the T2 is the perfect fit for the audiophile seeking to bring premium build and sound quality to their beloved vinyl collection.

The T2 does not come with integrated MM phono preamp, so if you already have or are looking to purchase a separate, upgraded preamp for use with the T2, this is a perfect fit! Check out the T2 Super Phono for the version with integrated Pro-Ject MM preamp! However, the T2 does include super shielded, semi-symmetrical, low-capacitance phono cables, purpose-designed by Pro-Ject – not your run-of-the-mill RCA cables.

Highest Quality Materials

The elegantly crafted CNC-machined plinth has been expanded in size to enhance stability and is available in striking finishes such as High Gloss Black, Satin White, or Walnut. It boasts a construction free of plastic components and meticulous manufacturing that eliminates any hollow spaces within, effectively preventing unwanted vibrations within the chassis. Furthermore, the glass platter in the T2 has been made heavier and thicker compared to its predecessor, ensuring a zero-resonance design that effectively eliminates the shortcomings associated with plastic or lightweight steel alternatives. Complementing these improvements, purpose-selected turntable feet effectively isolate the T2 from ambient vibrations present in the vicinity of your hi-fi system.

Speed Control, Motor & Drive

The T2's motor and drive system remain identical to those found in the T1. The motor drives the flat belt which drives the anti-resonant sub-platter. The sub-platter is mounted to an ultra-precise main bearing comprised of a hardened steel axle in brass bushing (machined to a tolerance of 0.001mm!) Where most alternative products use unregulated DC motors with wide speed fluctuations, the T2 uses an electronically-regulated, precision-speed AC motor. Electronic speed change between 33 and 45rpm is accessible with the rocker switch as well! All told, it's a highly-stable & ultra-low-noise drive system.

New Tonearm & Anti-Skating

The T2's tonearm has been improved for better cartridge geometry. Still a one-piece aluminum design, its effective length improves to 9". It adds an updated, low-friction bearing to accommodate the increased length and diameter for absolute accuracy. Aside from clean aesthetics, the integrated headshell is a key player in minimizing arm tube resonance (bonded headshells have adverse effects in terms of resonance). The T2 also features user-friendly spring-based anti-skating for fast and accurate setup. Since the Sumiko Rainier is factory-aligned with the tracking force set, simply turn the wheel to your desired value, and you're done with adjustments.

Sumiko Rainier

The T2 includes the acclaimed high-value Sumiko Rainier MM phono cartridge which synergizes beautifully with the built-in phono stage. The cartridge is factory-aligned with the tracking force set! An acrylic dust cover is also included with adjustable hinges for your convenience.
