USB-C For the Win
Two USB-C ports simplify cable management: one for audio and the other for charging.

iEMatch
A switch on the underside activates iFi’s iEMatch which reduces hiss, enhances detail and dynamic range, and improves volume control range. Optimized for high-sensitivity headphones and earphones, iEMatch is especially beneficial for IEMs.

Circuit Upgrades
Inside, hip-dac 3 boasts circuit enhancements, including new metal film capacitors for a better frequency response. Additionally, an updated version of iFi’s GMT circuitry, coupled with a new crystal oscillator, further reduces phase noise, delivering a purer sound.

Truly Balanced
The hip-dac 3 features a true balanced circuit design, minimizing signal distortion and yielding a purer signal. The circuitry incorporates high-quality components, including a custom iFi op-amp, low-noise power supply IC, and a premium analog volume pot.

The amp stage can deliver up to 400mW into a 32Ω load, making it compatible with a wide range of headphones. Additionally, it efficiently drives high-impedance headphones with an output voltage of 6.3V into 600Ω from the balanced output.

Burr-Brown DAC

The hip-dac 3 uses a Burr-Brown DAC chip for its fluid, highly 'musical' sound quality and True Native architecture. Together with iF's custom circuitry, this enables the hip dac 3 to deliver excellent sound quality across digital audio formats, including bit-perfect PCM, native DSD and MQA.

Enhanced, Hi-Res Playback

The hip-dac 3 features Hi-Res True Native® playback of all music formats from MP3 to DSD256. It's compatible with Hi-Res audio formats such as PCM384 for broader compatibility and DXD384 for studio-level, mastering quality playback.
