Bloom's Take Just the name Spartacus alone triggers energy and heroism, even if you don’t know the history of who he was or what he represented. The skinny is, he was a hero of the people who fought for equality within the Roman Empire. He was a game-changer and sparked a rebellion against the status quo. While Noble’s latest sub-two grand IEM probably won’t change the world or bring social reforms, it’s certainly pushing the industry forward with innovation. Spartacus is a hybrid design with 4 balanced armature drivers and 2 bone conduction drivers generating its signature sound. It’s a resin-style IEM with a translucent faceplate that showcases a beautiful, organic fiber material for an individual, one-of-a-kind finish. The shell is on the smaller side, welcoming an easy, comfortable fit for most. The more we listened to Spartacus, the more its name made sense. It’s the IEM of a warrior: fast, powerful, and physical, while nimble and precise. Spartacus delivers thunderous lows and thick bass slam thanks to the “best of both worlds” combination of bone conduction and BA drivers, but also has the speed and resolution to render details and texture. While not a perfect all-arounder, Spartacus feels like a game changer for music produced in the last two decades and captures elements of modern music with a focus we’ve yet to hear in an IEM. It’s most notable with electronic music, highly technical rock or metal, and film scores in which classical instrumentation, rock and electronic music converge. |
