ATH-AWKG Overview
Audio-Technica introduces the ATH-AWKG, their newest Closed-back Dynamic wooden headphone and a member of their prestigious NARUKAMI collection. Taking its name from the thunder god of Japanese legend, the NARUKAMI series features high-end audio products designed to ignite elemental passions and offers premium, boundary-pushing audio experiences along with meticulous Japanese craftsmanship.
Key materials such as the precious KUROGAKI wood featured in the ATH-AWKG, are selected to bring the listener closer to the wonders of nature. KUROGAKI refers to persimmon wood that exhibits internal, black ink-like patterns, a style and process cherished by nobles and literati throughout history. These wooden housings contribute to exceptional sound quality while their lacquer finish brings out the natural beauty of the wood grain.
Equipped with highly efficient German 53mm drivers, the AWKG delivers exceptionally accurate audio with an expansive sound field. And the lightweight, magnesium alloy arms are positioned perfectly to ensure the best fit with excellent earcup seal. Comfort is further enhanced by the smooth, durable sheepskin earpads and headband with an additional pair of ZMF Universe Hybrid earpads thrown in to provide a unique, alternate experience. Finally, the ATH-AWKG is accompanied by an exquisitely designed storage box adorned with KUROGAKI wood, achieving perfect harmony with the headphones.

A Sound Connection
Since 2015, Audio-Technica has used a proprietary and specially designed A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) mini-connector on all of their in-ear headphones and select over-ear headphones with detachable cables. This approach was chosen in order to create a better connection, to reduce connector rotation, and to design a connector dedicated to audio.
ZMF Earpads
Explore an additional listening experience with the included additional set of interchangeable ZMF Universe hybrid earpads for a unique, alternate sound. ZMF's Universe earpad features a suede / lamb covering and is their "flattest," most universally compatible pad: not too thin and not too thick.
