Gracefully Charming Purple

Building on the success of the FT1, FiiO sought new types of woods to share their unique charm. Their search led them to Purpleheart, a rare “purple treasure” from South America prized for its hardness and striking hue, which matures from light brown to deep purplish-red. Used in fine instruments and furniture since the 1920s, Purpleheart combines nature’s gift with FIlO’s craftsmanship. 

After arriving in Lianyungang, it’s kiln-stabilized, aged for months to develop its wine-like color, then precisely carved, polished, and lacquered. This rare wood, long a symbol of mystery, power, and individuality, blending natural beauty with timeless evolution.

Closed-Back Design

Beyond the natural isolation of its closed wooden earcups, the FT13 features an integrated system of passive noise-reduction components. This includes a standing wave dissipation chamber, specially designed rear cavity sound-absorbing cotton, and a noise-reducing U-shaped tube.

Together, these components can reduce everyday ambient noise by up to 26dB. This closed design also prevents sound from leaking out, making the headphones perfect for quiet environments like offices, libraries, or dorms without disturbing others.

60mm Dynamic Driver

The FT13, like the FT1, features a massive 60mm dynamic driver, a size almost unheard of in its category. This larger driver generates more power and is more efficient at converting electrical signals into sound. The result is sound with less distortion, quicker transients, and deeper, more powerful bass. 

Wool Composite Nano-Fiber Wood Diaphragm

Crafted from birch wood sourced from Europe’s cold climates, the new diaphragm gains exceptional hardness and fiber strength, enabling precise tuning of resistance and stiffness for optimal sound. Using a century-old paper-making process, the wood pulp is blended with carbon fiber threads for added rigidity and treble detail, then baked to just 0.1 mm.

Wool fibers add natural flexibility, creating a warm, rich, and engaging sound. Inspired by speaker cones, the proprietary W-shaped design expands the vibration area by 25.8%, with a rigid dome and flexible surround for higher efficiency, reduced energy loss, and lower distortion.

Large CCAW Voice Coil

The FT13 features a Japanese-imported CCAW voice coil with an ultra-thin 0.035mm wire and a lightweight KSV former. These components dramatically reduce the moving mass of the diaphragm, resulting in faster sound response and reduced unnecessary reverberations. The voice coil has a diameter of 25mm. In a fixed magnetic field and with a constant current, a larger coil diameter means a longer voice coil wire. Thus, a longer copper wire results in greater driving force and higher efficiency, leading to a richer midrange and quicker transients.

U-Shaped Damping Tube
A U-Shaped damping tube cleverly uses the air inside the headphones to tune the sound. The design has been optimized to lower the cavity's resonant frequency, resulting in deeper, higher-quality bass. 

Easy-to-Drive
The FT13's impedance, sensitivity, and frequency response make it an ideal choice for listeners dipping their toes into the world of personal audio. 

Furukawa Monocrystalline Copper + Silver-plated Copper Cable
The cable included with the FT13 is crafted with an 8-strand braided design, housing 1,000 wire conductors. This combination of premium metals is what allows the cable to deliver truly excellent sound. 

Detachable Plug
The FT13 includes four detachable audio plugs, allowing one cable to work with various kinds of audio sources. 

3-Axis Swivel
After extensive ergonomic testing, FiiO has implemented a three-axil adaptive swivel to comfortably adapt to various head sizes.
