Feliks Audio Echo Vibe | OTL Headphone Amplifier and Preamp

This amplifier is outstanding and is able to drive my ATH-ADX5000 headphones to their fullest extent (that I have heard thus far).

I had gone from the solid state HO150 to the Valhalla 2 (which I had used in the past with a different set of cans), recently making the jump over to the newly released Valhalla 3! However, whilst the Valhalla 3's added clarity provided has been fantastic - making its sound signature seem like a hybrid between the clarity of solid state with the added warmth and tubeyness of a vacuum tube amp - it wasn't able to present the same ADX5000 holographic soundstage that the Valhalla 2 was able to. Although, it definitely did outshine the Valhalla 2 in terms of sound separation and clarity.

But after some online discussion with a lot of other very kind and informative audiophiles on Head-Fi, I had determined that the Valhalla 3 - whilst amazing for it's appearance, price, soundstage and functionality - wasn't able to power my ADX5000's to their necessary levels. And since the awesome folks on Head-Fi had also been the ones whom had informed me about Feliks Audio even existing, I had decided to do some deeper digging. And after finding out that the Vibe - whilst double the price of the Valhalla 3 - was also a newly released amp with changes for similar reasons as the new Valhalla amplifier's release, I immediately became interested. And once I saw that the Echo Vibe used the same tubes as the Valhalla (6N6P & 6N1P - which I had quickly been building quite the stash of), my interest in the Vibe had grown even more! And then, I was able to find a video on YouTube showing a behind-the-scenes look at the Feliks Audio workplace operation....and that pushed me over the edge and was enough in totality to convince me to purchase the Vibe! And lemme tell ya, this purchase was MOST DEFINITELY worth it!

The Feliks Audio Echo Vibe is able to power my headphone's 420 ohm impedance drivers perfectly well, with every song played revealing details that were previously masked with the Valhalla 3's reduced power output or with the Valhalla 2's reduced sound separation & clarity (the HO150 also doesn't have enough power and provides a sound signature that I do not personally enjoy with my headphones). And with the needed power to correctly drive my ADX5000s, the sound from any source at any volume level is fully enveloped around my ears, making it sound as if I am seated in a studio designed for audio production, with all of the instruments being played and sound being provided floating around me in an endearingly lively way. Furthermore - whilst I haven't yet burned-in this amplifier, nor have I burned-in its included 4 tubes (which are amazingly matched and tested in the Feliks Audio office) - this amp sounded a million times better than what I had initially anticipated once I rolled my own sets of 6N6P & 6N1P tubes over from my Valhalla 3. My perfectly matched pair by graph 6N6P tubes w/ Gold Grids and my JJ Gold Pin E88CC/6922s sounded great. But I have also recently acquired a matched pair (by gain) of Telefunken & JJ Black Diamond Gold Pin E88CC/6922s.....and after installing those, I had found the perfect fatigue reducing combination of warmth and clarity for the rather bright sound presentation that my particular headphones have. And now I can confidently rate the sound provided by my headphones as an 11/10 (this rating applies to the Echo Vibe as well)! And of course - as you may now know from what you just read - 6 out of 9 people are bad at fractions =P (I read that message in a fortune cookie one day....but some jokes are better when spoken/heard rather than when being read, haha).

Anyway, this amplifier has more than met my expectataions...it has far exceeded them! And whilst I won't need another new amplifier for quite a while now, I will most definitely be looking at what Feliks Audio has to offer when/if that time comes. So, thank you so much to Feliks Audio for the Echo Vibe! Thus far, it has been beyond the level of splendor that I was looking for and expecting!

Aside from that, I also want to send a huge thank you out to Bloom Audio! They have been another new discovery in my rather veiled mental knowledge of audiophile outlets. However, they have provided me with nothing but kindness and rapid assistance to any and all of my questions sent their way! Superb operations from Bloom Audio - especially in the modern day! Wow! Incredible! Stupendous! I would highly recommend using them for your next audiophile purchase if you haven't heard of them or bought anything from them before.

TL;DR:
The Feliks Audio Echo Vibe is an amazing amplifier that can properly drive my high-impedance headphones (better than all other amplifiers that I have previously tried)! It scores an 11/10!
Bloom Audio is also a great audiophile outlet shop, thus resulting in their rating also being an 11/10!
