FlipEars Aurora XXIV | Tribrid Universal IEM

These are amazing and flying completely under the radar! I’m shocked these aren’t being talked up a lot more. They are tuned extremely well and cohesively throughout the entire frequency response. Extremely smooth, yet excellent resolution and timbre.

The sub bass and bass quantity and quality are amazing, and a little PEQ boost makes it even better😁, and it handles it well.

I feel like the Aurora is just so natural and organic and presents the music faithfully to how the track was mixed and intended to be heard!

It is a warm, balanced set and the vocals sound so engaging and emotional…they aren’t recessed at all, nor too far forward…they are just right! And I’m a vocal fanatic!

The vocals don’t feel like they are separated out and pushed unnaturally forward, as with some hybrid IEMs. They also aren’t narrow and too in your head. They are staged perfectly! They sound full and rich, while maintaining outstanding clarity and detail. As many other reviewers have stated…they just come across so lush and organic!!

It almost feels more like I’m listening to high-end studio monitor speakers vs. an IEM. And, they just beg to have you turn the volume up…nothing ever becomes harsh or sibilant…just more engaging and immersive.

The treble has exceptional detail…for my personal tastes, I just needed to add in a slight PEQ boost in the upper registers for a little more air. Doing so brings them to life even more!

Then there’s the build quality! Just ridiculous! So well built and stunning to look at. I appreciate the wider nozzles as I have larger ear canals…with the Baroque Tips they are very comfy. I’ve had them in for six hours straight without any discomfort.

I really just love these! Can’t get enough!

When the light hits the Aurora, it puts on a light show as it refracts the light and reveals the shimmering, changing hues of blue and green with the silver logo.

I also love the attention to detail with the Aurora styling not just on the outer shell, but the inner side that faces the ear as well.

And there’s a sliver “XXIV” included at the top.

These are special IEMs! And in my opinion, a STEAL at their price point!

Look, we all know IEM's each have a 'tuning' that mediates various qualities of 'staging,' 'tonality' etc. This one seems to be less vulnerable to compromises, though, as you could buy it and listen to it without comparing it to others. That said, having compared it, I would say it's width of stage is amazing and a very sweet tonality that is so pleasant but you you may prefer a more dense sound with layers rather than the spread of sound. But if you like sound 'out of your head,' this is a keeper.

I was lucky enough to get a very early Aurora set. I live part-time in the Philippines and met the team there. During my visit, I listened to their different models, tested my "test tracks", and was fitted by an audiologist (they have one on staff!). I made my selection (these!) and the rest is happy history.

I've owned many different high-end IEMs, and these are simply the best...by far. Electrostatic drivers for high end, fire woofers for amazing low end. And BA for everything in between. And a bombproof shell. The kitchen sink! But...a very elegant, well-designed kitchen sink!

My brother, a super high-end Hi-Fi fan with a broad array of full cans, high-end audio components, etc...listened to my Auroras once...and placed his order that day. They are that good.

I couple mine with some custom cables, a Cord Mojo (still need to think about getting the Mojo 2) and hi-rez audio. Occasionally, I'll throw on a set of Fiio UTWS5s for Bluetooth...but you can hear that the music isn't all there in that configuration...wired with the Mojo is just so much better.

Get the Auroras. Worth every cent...and then some!
