Cayin HA-2A | Desktop Tube Headphone Amplifier

Disclaimer this has nothing to do with Bloom, purely the amp.

The amp I bought was sent with a busted right channel that was barely noticeable when I first got it but after a year (just outside the warranty window) it degraded into a loud persistent static. Now I am stuck with a 25 pound paper weight and a repair bill the cost of a brand new amp from a reliable brand.

I bought the Xduoo-32 before and listen to me, if you have about 1k to spend on music, don’t buy the Xduoo-32 for both amp/dac. Buy a dongle and a GOOD amp, and that’s way better than a 1k amp/dac.

The Cayin HA-2A has completely exceeded my expectations. It’s dynamic with clarity or control. The mids are lush and organic, highs are smooth with zero fatigue, and the bass has great texture and punch without being bloated. What really impressed me is the sense of space — the soundstage feels open, pairs well with Meze 109 pro. Build quality is stellar too — compact, elegant, and aesthetically pleasing. This little amp has serious soul.

I love this amp from Cayin. But sadly, it made me want to buy a more expensive headphone to pair with it. Lol

Cayin produces satisfying products. This is my 3rd purchase from Cayin. Also have a Cayin Ru9 and IDAC 8.they all perform well. The HA2A is joy to use and powers my Abyss JOAL, ZMF Bokeh. Also good with Campfire Andromeda. Recommend!

The Cayin ha-2a is a joy to listen to!

-The sound is warm, lush, without ever sounding too dark or claustrophobic. Instead it’s airy and spacious. All together it is very natural sound signature that is perfect balanced!

-Power is more than enough. This amp can drive anything you throw at it from high impedance dynamics, a demanding planar, or even a sensitive IEM. All thanks to the impedance selector, making it extremely versatile. As well as having three different headphone outs, plus RCA and XLR inputs that are also toggled via selectors, on the front.

-The ha-2a is a looker! This amp is absolutely beautiful with its two VU meters which are lit with white LED’s, as well as the volume knobs indicator mark. I went with silver, which I feel gives it a very elegant, and clean look. It also comes with a cage that can be taken on or off to provide protection from you or others touching the tubes by accident. And lastly the volume knob. It is buttery smooth with a good amount of resistance preventing you from bumping it up by mistake and blowing your ear drums out! It is perfect, could not ask for more.

I highly recommend the Cayin ha-2a for its price to performance. Excellent value for the money! And purchasing from the kind people at Bloom audio who were excellent in their customer service, price, and delivery time.

The Cayin HA-2A acts as a nice liaison between my AK Kann Cube and Sennheiser 820 headphones, imparting a transparent, while smooth and rich reproduction of my most cherished music collection to my ears, and even helping to resurrect some "poor quality" songs and albums that I had practically abandoned listening to, for want of a suitable "sound vehicle". Makes my best sound great and my worst ------ listenable again. Classic Rock stand-bys like King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Traffic, Beatles, etc., are a pleasure to experience inside of Cayin's lovely wide soundstage and distorsion-free sound floor that delivers overall crystal-clear highs and mids on any well-produced hi-res track, as well as bass that has a rich, but not over powering presence. I think the tubes supply just the right amount of warmth to any genre of music. Best thing I like is how the soundstage puts me in a big room with great stereo without having to shake the walls and wake neighbors with huge power speakers! Perfect headphone amp for anyone who wants to be kind to their ears, but can't afford to spend tens of thousands of dollars. Also pleasing design; looks great on my night table.
