Introduced in 2005, the original Soloist was a bit rough around the edges. Still, with its fully discrete circuitry, resistor ladder volume control and Class-A amplification, the Soloist made a name for oneself, turning Burson from a band of idealists into a brand representing ideals.

The Soloist returns, all grown up and civilized, but without forgetting his humble, blue-collar lineage. He returns to upset the audio industry aristocracy with his flair for performance and working-class affordability.

Astonishing Power

The Soloist 3X-Performance spits out 8000mW in XLR and 4000mW single-ended. Yet, it can drive headphones up to 110db sensitivity without detectable current noise. There is simply nothing like it in the industry.

The key to this ferocious power and pitch-black background is 3 sets of Burson proprietary Max Current Power Supplies (MCPS), delivering instant, abundant and clean energy to its fully discrete and Class-A circuitry.

Burson Soloist 3XP Circuitry

Elitist Volume Control

The Soloist uses the legendary MUSES72320 volume controller. The same controller using by industry aristocrats such as the Pass Lab XP-30, the AVM Ovation and other flagship preamps priced for the fortunate few.

Being a resistance ladder circuit, the MUSE72320 has perfect channel balance and separation, resulting in a phenomenal sound stage. When combined with three levels of gain and our input buffer stage, The Soloist matches any headphone and loudspeaker amplifier perfectly.

Headphone Power Amp Mode

Less is more, and that is the truth even when using the best components on the signal path. Although the MUSE72320 is an incredible volume controller, we’ll let you bypass it when your DAC or preamp already controls volume.

You can also use the Soloist X to boost the driving power of your favorite sound card while centralizing volume control from your favorite playback software or games. It would be the ultimate upgrade to any listening and gaming experience.

Burson Soloist 3XP

Self-Assured But Never Self-centered

The Soloist is confident and self-assured, but it still plays to your preference. It encourages opamp rolling with gold plated DIP8 sockets on its signal path. With countless audio opamps out there, you have complete freedom to create a unique listening experience.

Listening Impression

Never drawing attention to itself, the Soloist is not a flamboyant showman but a phenomenal performer that lets you discover your favourite tunes anew. It powers through any demanding work with precision, reveals micro-details which makes music magical and unveils the emotional core within the rhythms. With our blood, and tradition pumping through its veins, the Burson Soloist 3X returns to entertain a new generation of audience.

Bloom Audio and the Burson Soloist 3X Performance

Recently purchased a Burson Audio Soloist 3X Performance headphone amp and have previously purchased a Hifiman Arya Stealth version headphone both from Bloom Audio. Very happy with both of my purchases. The guys at Bloom Audio are courteous, accommodating and knowledgeable about the equipment they sell. Great place to demo equipment to make an informed, prospective purchase. The Hifiman Stealth is just an incredibly balanced headphone across the frequency range which makes it a great all- rounder for many genres of music. Could certainly be endgame for many headphone enthusiasts. The Burson Soloist 3X truly revealed the capabilities of the Arya Stealth and my Audeze LCD-X 2021 version. They both have never sounded better. The Soloist, while not inexpensive, is a great example of price to performance ratio. Enhanced resolution, soundstage, bass response, micro-details and at times a holographic presentation are all evident in the music presentation to my ears. Important to list my equipment chain to help understand what I am hearing: Cambridge Audio CXC cd transport, Schiit Bifrost 2 dac, balanced into the Burson Soloist 3XP. Occasionally use a Schiit Loki+ depending on quality of recording( most listening done from my extensive CD collection. Highly recommend Bloom Audio for your headphone and associated equipment needs and purchases!

Big Upgrade

You can't beat a class A amp for power and presence. I bought this hoping for an upgrade over the headphone input on my main integrated amp. Wow, what an upgrade! I didn't realize what I've been missing in my headphones. Great volume control with the remote, the best of any component I've ever owned. A quality amp in all respects. With the 3a supercharger, the background is even quieter, revealing more detail in the recording. Very happy with this amp. This is my 1st purchase from Bloom. They quickly answered all my questions before buying. I'll be back here again for future purchases/upgrades.

Fantastic Amp

The Burson Soloist 3XP is a great Amp. It costs a little more than all of the “usual suspects” in the sub-1000 dollar category, but it performs to a higher and more enjoyable level. The Soloist has a nice spacious soundstage, with great separation between the instruments. There is a richness and dimension to the sound that I find very pleasing. This is actually the second Soloist 3XP I’ve purchased, and I couldn’t be happier. It’s performs amazingly with all of the different DACs (and types of DACS) I’ve paired it with (Chord Hugo 2, Burson Composer, iFi Diablo, Schiit Bifrost 2, and Denafrips Ares 2).

This amp is fantastic and Bloom Audio is even better.

What a pleasure to order and work with such an excellent establishment. I have never received such an excellent experience from a retailer. I can't say enough! Thanks Bloom!

The End Game

Just received, listening to it right now. My compliments to Bloom Audio for great prices and super fast delivery. I have a Woo Audio tube amp for that “tubey” sound on certain headphones, and Singxer SA-1 for occasional use. This amp blows the Singxer out of the water!

The Burson picks up every detail, seems fairly warm in presentation, and is really well built. The remote control is a dream, and even though double the price of the SA-1; it is very well worth every cent. You can tell that Burson sacrifices nothing for great sound and high quality. I can’t imagine ever replacing this amp.

I’ll still use my tube amp, but the Burson is great also. I cannot recommend this amp or Bloom Audio highly enough. Thanks guys.
