A masterpiece for audiophiles—worth every penny of its premium price.

The Eletech Cable Eclipse redefines sonic excellence. Its immersive soundstage and pristine clarity unveil nuances in tracks I’d never noticed. The midrange breathes organic warmth, while bass extension and treble sparkle strike perfect balance.

Budget Aristotle

The Eclipse is neutral-sounding copper cable with solid technicalities. It has neutral bass slightly-pronounced vocals, and a relatively well-rounded treble response. At this price, I can’t find a cable with such pleasing tonality. Get it quick before it’s gone, like, forever!

As an owner of both the Aristotle (Versa config.) and now the Eclipse, I am happy to report that the Eclipse is reminiscent of its more expensive counterpart. Tonal balance on both are quite similar on both: with the classic copper neutrality with low colorations across the board (mostly minute boosts, no significant emphasis on a particular frequency and no odd artifacts). The tonal difference include: significantly reduced sweetness in the vocals for the Eclipse (position also seems to be less forward), less treble extension, thus less crash and shimmer in the upper registers, and slightly less-textured bass. Of course, when it comes to technicalities, the Aristotle outperforms the Eclipse in every way possible, with much better resolution, better macro and micro dynamics, and a far more precise and larger soundstage, as it should for 5x the price (though to be honest, I find the Aristotle to be a very technical cable, regardless of price, all while retaining excellent tonality, so the differences are quite apparent). On the non-sonic front, the Eclipse is notably softer, thus better maneuverability and less microphonics, and lighter (the Aristotle does sag on my ears slightly). Both have the classic Eletech build quality (excellent braiding consistency, nice finishes on the metal components, consistent trimming of the LR channels and heat shrinks), though the Eclipse has no accessories other than the included Versa connectors (2-pin, MMCX) and the Baroque tips (it comes in the same package as the Virtues series, but doesn't have a cable tie or a pouch, which is understandable as it is significantly cheaper).

Speaking of the Virtues series, I unfortunately don't have an Azrael on hand (which seems to be the closest point of comparison, as it shares the same core wire material and isn't significantly more expensive), though I do have a Cassiel. Compared to the Cassiel, the Eclipse has notably better bass excursion, less shimmer and edge in the vocals, in turn adding back some richness, with a more rounded transient edge in the treble. Technical-performance-wise, it is less resolving and the stage is slightly smaller. For around half the price, the Eclipse seriously gives the Cassiel a run for the money.

Honestly, the Eclipse is one of the best value-for-money cables out there, if not the best, offering a well-refined copper-neutrality at a price where many cables struggle with creating a half-decent tonality. No corners were cut in the build and materials of the cable itself either, and the included pack of self-selectable Baroque tips are just another cherry on the top.
