Bloom's Take Sennheiser's HD 620S may not be the first or last closed-back you’ll own, but it does a lot right at a very reasonable price. It checks the boxes for comfortable ergonomics, solid all around sound, and the ability to go portable. HD 620S isn't a head-turner visually, but the overall build quality is solid once the cans are in your hands and over your ears. Sennheiser's 620S package is fairly typical with a cloth storage pouch, 6' standard single-ended cable, and a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter. However, internal wiring can accommodate balanced cables no problem, and a genuine Sennheiser 4.4mm cable is available. HD 620S is simple, intentionally designed, and ergonomically prioritized. It's balanced, spacious, and engaging, and we 100% endorse it as a proper mid-fi closed-back without hesitation.
