Bloom's Take

Triton is not an IEM for the faint of heart, or for those desiring reference accuracy above all else. Triton is a brash, fun basshead IEM delivering energy, power, and physicality, with enough technical twist to justify its $1799 price tag. Triton builds on EE's hard-hitting low end legacy, achieving a sound that puts bass in your face while delivering strong tonal balance.

The Limited Edition package definitely has a flagship feeling, while the standard package meets expectations. The IEMs themselves look phenomenal and feature that emotive Empire Ears design that bumps faceplate aesthetics beyond the more normative resin IEMs out there. While predominantly a basshead IEM, its combination of low impedance and low sensitivity creates a bit of diversity with source pairing, bringing fun variability with the resulting sound.

Triton

Introducing Triton: the latest innovation from Empire Ears. This marvel seamlessly blends classic Empire Ears craftsmanship with an all-new tribrid, dual conduction architecture.

Equipped with their signature W9+ subwoofer, the precision-engineered EMP75 balanced armature, and next-generation dual high-mass bone conductors, this setup was meticulously crafted to provide a rich, immersive, and distinctively bold Empire Ears sound that has defined the industry over the past decade and continues to set new standards

The Trident

Triton proudly boasts the Trident symbol on the left IEM, representing the three phases of creation: the past, present, and future. This emblem not only signifies Empire Ears' journey and evolution but also their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in audio excellence.

Past – Paying homage to the Olympus series, Triton is their first IEM since that series to reference this theme, reminding us of Empire Ears' roots and storied past.

Present – Triton features a variation of the Valkyrie’s Dragonhide faceplate and the Legend X’s compact, comfortable shell. Their recent offerings, packed with advanced drivers and technology, have often compromised on size and ergonomics. Triton breaks this trend, achieving an optimal balance between fit and performance.

Future – Representing a new phase for Empire Ears, Triton aims to be competitive beyond just the flagship tier. True to their commitment to excellence, Triton delivers extraordinary sound through an innovative tribrid configuration. It replaces the W10 with a new dual mass bone conductor, dual balanced armatures, and signature W9+.

Resonance Manipulation
In sculpting Triton, they've refined the ARC (Anti-Resonance Control) technology to target key internal components. This enhanced approach mitigates unwanted vibrations and resonance, creating an auditory landscape that is distinctly Empire in its elegance. The deliberate integration of ARC not only enhances bone conduction capabilities but also exemplifies their commitment to merging unparalleled sound clarity with sophisticated design for an audio experience that transcends expectations.

Ventilation Mastery
Triton’s acoustic architecture, particularly due to the Dual High Mass Bone Conductors, necessitated a precise approach to air volume and exhaust design. Fine-tuning the enclosure’s ventilation was critical, as minute adjustments in vent diameter and placement profoundly influenced sound quality and performance. Through meticulous calibration of the vented drivers' volume requirements, they've unlocked its full potential, optimizing the output and maximizing the auditory experience. This precision ensures Triton delivers unparalleled sound fidelity, demonstrating their commitment to acoustic perfection.

Designed, Engineered & Assembled in the USA

Empire Ears Triton

I had a chance to audition this set at Can jam Dallas and absolutely fell in love with the deep impactful bass and sound presentation. Upon returning home I immediately ordered my own set. I prefer a sound signature that has deep impactful bass and clear treble highs that are not drowned out by that bass shelf. Triton was exactly what I was looking for! The bass on this set is ..Well let's just say "God Tier" ..
I have owned these for about 2 weeks and have spent many hours with this set. Every favorite song on my playlist has taken on an entire new life! It's like walking into that night club back in the day that had that killer sound system with the thumping bass subs and bullet horn highs with respectable mids. The bone conduction drivers are second to none and if you are looking for END GAME iem's this is without a doubt the set you want to get .. Highly recomend..10/10

Bass-Focused, Perfect for Bassheads

The Empire Ears Triton has been a standout IEM in my collection, especially as someone who loves bass-heavy music like drum and bass, dubstep, house, and hip hop. The tuning is clearly bass-centric, and the Triton excels in delivering deep, powerful low-end frequencies.

Sound:
The bass is undoubtedly the star of the show here. It’s thick, punchy, and hits with authority – perfect for bassheads. However, while the bass is the dominant part of the tuning, the mids and highs aren’t neglected. You can still hear plenty of detail in other frequency ranges, which keeps the sound from feeling one-dimensional. The overall presentation is immersive and energetic, with a wide soundstage that complements electronic music perfectly.

Comfort:
Fit and comfort have been flawless with the Triton. Unlike my Thieaudio Monarch MK3, which gave me trouble with tip selection, the Triton has worked well with every tip I’ve tried. I’m currently using Divinus Velvets wide bore tips, and they create a great seal without any discomfort, even during long listening sessions. These IEMs have been comfortable for extended wear, and I’ve experienced no ear fatigue.

Driver Flex:
There was some initial crackling in the right ear due to driver flex, but it resolved after a few days of use. This seems to be part of the break-in process and hasn’t been an issue since.

Build Quality:
As expected from Empire Ears, the build quality is excellent. The stock cable performs well, and I haven’t felt the need to swap it out. It’s durable and fits the overall premium feel of the Triton.

Final Thoughts:
If you're someone who prioritizes bass, the Triton is a fantastic choice. The bass is the focal point of the tuning, but it doesn’t come at the expense of clarity in other frequencies. The comfort is great, especially with the right tips, and the build quality is superb. Overall, the Triton is an ideal IEM for bassheads who still want an engaging and detailed listening experience.

Not bad, not great

The build quality is solid, and they look great. However to my ears they sound muddy. Even at this price point, I expected to get more clarity and instrument separation and unfortunately Triton didn't deliver that for me. The sound stage is decent, but not expansive. The bass is there for sure, but its not tight enough or fast enough for my tastes. Overall, I found the Triton to be a mellow IEM that I could listen to for 5+ hour session's without fatigue. They are comfortable to wear but the cables are a bit stiff and can be awkward. If your looking for a set of IEM's geared more towards the musical side and less technical, these may be a good choice.
