Bloom's Take DX320 isn’t a huge step forward for iBasso, but it’s the perfect iterative replacement for the DX300. It’s well-tuned with a relaxed yet engaging sound and strong sonic characteristics. While there are a number of players that can give you an engaging sound and great three-dimensional image, the DX320's user experience sets it apart from the herd. If you want flagship level audiophile sound and a user experience on par with flagship smartphones, DX320 is the best there is under $2,000. |
New Flagship-level Dual BD34301EKV Era
The BD34301EKV DAC chip, developed by ROHM, emphasizes 'spatial reverberation,' 'quietness,' and 'dynamic range', qualities important for reproducing music. Original sound quality design technology makes it possible to successfully reproduce the targeted natural reproduction of sound. Additionally, class-leading low noise and distortion provides the high performance demanded by high fidelity audio equipment.
In-House FPGA-Master Controller
In the DX320, iBasso both adopted and in-house developed their FPGA-Master technology. The FPGA-Master controls and directly requests data from the SoC, playing a major role in signal reproduction and maintaining signal integrity. It works to synchronize clocks, reduce jitter, and prioritize audio scheduling processes for an exceptionally clean digital audio signal and stable, smooth operation.
Patented Dual Battery Power Supplies
When a single battery powers a system, a large demand of current by the digital and analog sections can cause distortion and degrade sound quality. The DX320 utilizes a patented dual battery structure with the AMP and digital section being powered by independent batteries providing a sufficient power supply to ensure stability while achieving better sound quality. The analog section in turn receives extremely clean DC leaving the AMP to reach its full potential.
Hefty Hardware
The DX320 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 as the SoC. With the powerful performance of this 14nm 8-core processor along with 6GB RAM, there is ample power and memory for a consistent, fast response! The 128GB of onboard storage allows for the convenience of installing more apps and music.
Replaceable AMP Card
A replaceable AMP Card Design provides for more variety, personalization, and enjoyment. The DX320 comes with the AMP11 MK2s and is equipped with 3.5mm single ended, 2.5mm balanced, and 4.4mm balanced output ports. It can be upgraded with a discrete balanced AMP12 or the Nutube AMP13 for vivid tube sound quality.
**NOTE: When using the AMP12 with DX320, it is recommended to select medium or low gain. Due to the circuit design compatibility, the AMP12 has a certain noise floor at high gain.
Android 11 + Mango OS
With the Android 11 OS, the DX320 ranks at the forefront of HiFi DAPs with faster system response and smoothness. As with previous iBasso players, enjoy the system-level "Non-SRC" feature as well. The DX320 also features the Linux-based "Mango OS," a stripped down OS which disables Bluetooth and WiFi to reduce EMI interference and minimizes CPU and RAM usage to maintain system purity for better sound quality.
MQA 16X
The DX320 includes MQA technology which enables you to playback MQA audio files and streams, enjoying the sound of the original master recording.
