Bloom's Take

HiFiMAN Arya has always been like a “gateway drug” for those in the hobby given its accessibility and performance for the price point, and it’s often the last stop before falling into the TOTL rabbit hole. It touts stellar soundstage, clarity, imaging, and resolution and has been a hit and easily a best-seller.

Arya Organic is the latest revision, and while it “still sounds like an Arya,” it bridges aspects of the version 2 and the version 3 Stealth to create the most complete sounding revision of Arya yet. The sound signature is mostly neutral with linear bass and emphasis in the upper end leaning slightly bright with the treble a hair emphasized over the rest of the sound for an airy feel and strong definition.

Aside from the faux wood grain wrapped around the cups, the headphone itself is pretty much the same, and it looks great. The packaging is a bit lacking as it’s just a box with a cable and a pop-out foam headphone stand you’ll want to replace immediately. That being said, Arya Organic launches at $1299, while the original listed at $1599, so we’ll take the savings and premium sound, and throw the recyclable box in the bin to save a tree. That’s fine.

Arya Organic is more sensitive than previous versions, and it got along quite well with a variety of both desktop and portable sources and amps, with Feliks Audio's Euforia Evo having noteworthy synergy and accuracy. We feel that the Organic is an objectively better Arya for $1299, and the improvements in its sound and performance get you closer to true TOTL quality right from the start.

From HiFiMAN

HiFiMAN is now shipping its 4th generation of the acclaimed headphone: Arya Organic. The Organic sports an updated industrial design featuring a wood earcup for a fuller sound signature, while retaining the wide soundstage and neutral response that made the original and its Stealth Magnets sequel two of the company’s most successful models.

With an ergonomic design to comfortably fit most listeners, the Arya incorporates unique HiFiMAN features such as the patented “window shade” system that reduces reflections to widen the soundstage. A super-thin diaphragm guarantees faster response and bare minimum distortion.

"Fans of the Arya often ask for a next-gen model with an even ‘fuller sound signature,’ which translates to greater detail and overall frequency response. Arya Organic is our response, with a soundstage and sonic output that will satisfy the most demanding audiophiles and music lovers."

Dr. Fang Bian - President, and CEO, HiFiMAN Electronics

The Power of Stealth

Traditional magnets generate sound waves that can introduce interference. The special shape of HiFiMAN's Stealth Magnets enable the waves to pass through without interference. This design is acoustically transparent minimizing the degradation of the sound waves and lowering distortion to produce accurate sonic output.

Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm

A breakthrough core technology developed by HiFiMAN, it’s the first of its kind in headphone applications. Working with this advanced material is extremely challenging, but the successful incorporation of this film as the Arya’s planar driver is the cornerstone of its remarkable sound.

Advanced Asymmetrical Magnetic Circuit

Years of research into planar driver optimization led HiFiMAN to utilize an asymmetrical design with smaller magnets on the ear-facing side. This reduces interference in sound wave transmissions from the diaphragm.

Craftsmanship and Comfort

The metal structure is created via CNC milling and hand-polishing. The ergonomic headband design is comfortable for most people, with greater reliability and durability. And the asymmetrical earcups follow the natural shape of the human ear for increased comfort and decreased fatigue. And as with all HiFiMAN products, the Arya features 3.5mm connectors angled at 10° thereby lessening the pressure points associated with straight-angled connectors. The design allows easy cable swapping for enhanced customizability.

Outstanding and Exceptional

The Arya Organic is the 4th iteration of the Arya line, and Hifiman has improved improved and refined the Arya in every way over earlier versions. They remain very comfortable, and I love the
addition of the wood veneer on the cups which give the Arya Organic a more refined appearance. The value to price ratio is incredible. The sound profile is outstanding. Weighty bass that is punchy byput never bloated, mids that are engaging, clean and effortless, but not overly warm. Great detail retrieval, impressive imaging and a wide soundstage. Treble is not overly bright, and vocals are very well reproduced and never shrill or fatiguing. The tones of acoustic guitars, wind instruments and pianos are so life-like. I owned the Arya v2 but sold them. The Arya Organic headphones are an incredible value at the price.

Improved in every way, but …

The OG was my first true audiophile headphone. This has improved it an every way. I thought the OG was a little bright which is why I sold it, unfortunately the same is true of the Organic. The soundstage is amazing however.
