The EarMen Angel is a portable DAC and headphone amp complete with a Pre Out option. But due to its very capable dual-cell battery and flexible features, it boasts plenty of power even for headphones with low sensitivity without the quick battery drain. Enjoy hours of your favorite high-fidelity music using a wide-range of headphones and IEMs on-the-go with plenty of power and performance.
Using the ESS DAC ES9038Q2M which features superb SNR and THD + N characteristics, the Angel stands out as a solid player among the competition. With the newest XMOS USB receiver capable of decoding up to 768kHz/32 bit PCM, DSD256 via DoP along with MQA Studio, you’ll have everything you need in your pocket for hi-fidelity listening.
The Angel is a fully balanced device with a balanced signal end-to-end from the DAC all the way to the headphone output. There is no degradation or variation in the audio signal itself outside of amplification, so the full, original sound is retained. The Angel is designed so that there are no additional or unnecessary capacitors or other components in the path of the audio signal that might introduce distortion.
The full 120dB dynamic range allows your music to energize and create a live listening experience. And the Angel features a linear power supply with ultra-low noise yielding clearer sound.
The Angel supports Tidal Masters MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files, an award-winning British technology that delivers the pure sound of the original master recording. The MQA file is fully authenticated and small enough to stream or download. Visit the MQA website for more information.
The EarMen Angel has a two-cell battery (2x3000mAh) providing plenty of hours of music listening with a charge time of less than three hours. Separate DATA and USB charging ports allow the device to run continuously while charging for non-stop listening.
When using Gain + mode, you will get more power and volume, improved sound dynamics, more precise volume level adjustment, and the flexibility to drive both sensitive and insensitive headphones.
Angel gives you a choice of either 3.5mm single-ended output or a balanced 4.4mm output for your headphones, and the device will auto-recognize your selected output.
The line out option gives you the ability to use Angel as a Pre Amp for your home HiFi system with both single-ended or fully balanced output.
