To make a long story short: I clearly consider the Raal-Requisite SR1a (in combination with the HSA-1b amp!) to be one of the very best headphones on the planet! IMHO, it blows many other flagship products out of the water, including the Hifiman Susvara, Abyss AB1266 Phi TC, Warwick Acoustics Bravura, T+A Solitaire P, Focal Utopia, Meze Empyrean, and Sennheiser HD800S - all of which I have compared it to. Thanks to the full-frequency ribbon technology and open baffle design, it delivers a breathtaking overall experience in terms of tonal realism, musical transparency, and speaker-like presentation. (Note: Take your time to learn how to adjust the flaps, and don't rely on the Jotunheim R amp.) If you are looking for a real endgame solution, this headphone is an absolute must-try!
These headphones are incredibly revealing. It is, literally, as if a veil has been lifted away from the music. The music is amazingly rich and textured. People complain about the lack of bass and at first I agreed that it was bass light (like the Stax). But after making some changes to my preamp (ZMF Pendant SE) I was amazed to find that these headphones are capable of very respectable bass. The headphones are very comfortable to wear but do not tolerate a lot of moving around. They are now all I want to listen to and I have LCD-X and Stax L-700 mk2 (among others) in my collection.
It was great to find them as an open box from Bloom Audio and Bloom was great answering all of my questions. I would definitely buy from Bloom again! Awesome experience all around!
