Really happy with the Effect Audio Ares S II x Cadmus II cable. It looks and feels great. Sound-wise, it improves warmth, transparency, and fullness. Everything just feels smoother and more enjoyable to listen to. Overall, it’s one of the best value for money upgrade for my IEM period.
Effect Audio is bar-none the best. This cable is impeccably well made, provided a substantial increase in soundstage, detail and bass. I was afraid the silver would be too much for my bright sounding iem's but that was not the case, perfectly balanced sound signature. Will only buy effect audio cables from now on!
I tested the Effect Audio Ares S II against the Effect Audio Ares S II x Cadmus II
Night and day difference. I didn’t think I would notice anything, but the AxC made the Effect Audio Ares S II sound muffled and dull. I tried my best to like the Effect Audio Ares S II over the AxC to save some money, but I just couldn’t get over the AxC with my HBB x Kiwi Ears Punch IEM’s
This review is about cables for the Monarch Mark IV IEMs tested with a dozen DACs.
1. Stock cable 6/10 - muddy / veiled and unworthy of the headphones.
2. Effect Audio Aries II 7/10 - better, more organic but not enough sparkle leaving the music lifeless uninvolving
3. Effect Audio AC 8/10 - much better, this is the first cable where I enjoy the music as it has power plus detail and the sounds are well separated / organized.
In conclusion a great product. Marty gave me some great advice. BTW, he says that the Raphael may be the best cable to go with this product if you can afford it. As for the Aries II, skip it and get this.
The Effect Audio AxC is a masterclass in design and engineering. From the moment you unbox it, the build quality is immediately apparent, feeling both premium and durable. The ergonomics are excellent, with comfortable ear hooks that make it easy to wear for hours-long listening sessions without any fatigue.
Sonically, the AxC is the perfect “Goldilocks” solution. Rather than doing half of what the Ares S II and Cadmus S II can do on their own, it expertly blends the best attributes of both. You get the warmth and musicality from the Ares lineage combined with the precision and clarity of the Cadmus, resulting in a sound that is dynamic, engaging, and perfectly balanced.
A couple of things to keep in mind: The cable is quite sensitive, so be mindful of potential interference when using it close to a mobile phone. Also, ensure the 4.4mm plug is connected securely; it needs a tight fit to establish a proper connection and deliver its outstanding audio performance.
Overall, this is a fantastic upgrade for any audiophile seeking a single cable that truly does it all.
