The Wells Audio Headtrip II Level II headphone amp is the ultimate stereo performance extension of the Headtrip II. It builds upon the performance by employing ultra premium, state-of-the-art parts. The Level II has reference PCBs which substitute 19 Vishay “naked z foil”‘ hand built resistors for all of the resistors in the signal path. These resistors which average $12.00 each replace resistors that average $.06 each. The bias pot is also a bulk foil Vishay which costs $40.00 each and replaces a pot that runs about $.75 each. Input coupling caps have been substituted with Rike copper foil, polypropylene, paper-in-oil caps. The PCBs and all wire is cryo-treated. The input coupling caps and transformer are wrapped with mumetal to shield EMF. All wiring leading to and away from the critical attenuator connections are hand-built coaxial cables to reject noise. To finish it off, billet aluminum feet are added. All of these added improvements are made for those seeking the absolute best, state-of-the-art headphone amplifier available.
